The belief that a tax on the top 2% will only affect the top 2% is short sighted. Is anyone her old enough to remember the luxury tax that they put on high ticket boats etc? It was designed to get more money from "the top 2%". Instead it pushed the cost of luxurt boats up just enough that sales of those boats dropped forcing the builders to lay off hundreds of workers. So the big "tax the rich" scheme denied a few borderline wealthy folks a fancy boat but cost alot of middle class workers their jobs. The moral of the story is that all sectors are connected. Any negative impact on one negatively impacts all.[/quote:ee7c0]

You are correct. Yes luxury boats sale may have dropped, and hundreds of workers may have been laid off. But for the most part the top 2% do not take their tax refunds and go out and buy things, or use it to help feed and educate thier children. They are not living paycheck to paycheck like so many in the middle class. I know to many people that have lost their jobs, that are either not working or are working for less pay. I totally agree with a middle class tax cut, because for the most part that money goes back into the economy and keep everyone working.

What good does any tax cuts reallydo for any one? When our present congress and administration make no attempt to control spending, except for social program for the poor/ If we are not careful we could see a dramatic devaluation in the dollar if we allow our national debt and deficet to grow..

And finally, Pyro Colonel is correct Clinton did send are troops into harms way several times. and a lot of people disagreed. Kosovo is a case in point, we did not have UN backing, but did have nato backing.

And yes alot of people thought Saddam had WMD on both sides of the aisle. But some of us didn't, but no one wanted to here from dissenters because it was deemed unpatriotic. The sanctions had work, Saddam was obessed with Iran, they were know real ties between Saddam and terrorist.
Saddam was a power hungery madman, that did do unspeakable things to the Iraqi people, he deserves to be in hell, but were we right to invade a country based on the idea that it leader was a bad man. If so, lets get to work because we need to start invading a lot of countries.
