It was actually released at a good time, ps2 was still a good year off, sega pretty much ebat themselves though and the sony bullshit finished off the dreamcast. The genesis cd drive flopped, gamegear flopped, 32x flopped and the saturn flopped, sega said they would support these but when they seen crappy sales they just slacked off trying to produce good games. After 3 misses in a row people were wary about buying another sega console because of what happened with their last few machines.
Then we had sony bullshit saying the ps2 could do 300,million polygons a second and jurassic park graphics. 300,million polys a second, maybe if it was liquid nitrogen cooled and had about 5 times the ram it had. oOo:
Dreamcast was a superior machine, just a bad track record and hype killed it before it got a good chance.
