The M1 Carbine was origianlly designed to replace submachineguns and pistols in arms other then Infantry, and it found itself in the hands of those already mentioned and in the Infantry and Paratroops (The M1A1). Also in November 1944, the M2 Carbine was standerdized. The M2 Carbine was Selective fire (Means Semi-automatic and Fully-Automatic capability).
During World War II, They had the 15 round box magazine.
