If you search on the internet, there are certain companies that specialize in re-enactment gear (uniforms, weapons, equipment, etc....). Plus I think the real gung-ho guys actually go and hunt down the authentic stuff (look on ebay, auction sites, weapon dealers / collectors, etc...). Some of that stuff is very expensive. I know Justin here was looking into some of the uniforms that the Rangers wore, and it wasn't cheap. Plus one of the guys here has a relative that's a class 3 weapons dealer (fully automatic and historic firearms that is , and he was able to bring in both an M1 Garand (I believe his was a replica), and an authentic, from the war MP38 (the predecessor of the MP40 . Both were working weapons (we didn't fire them of course . He said that the MP38 alone is worth like $10,000 at the least, if not more. Now I'm sure you could find a cheaper replica that maybe only fires blanks, or doesn't fire at all, but for the real stuff, that's pretty hefty .

I have a friend back in Chicago that's a gun-collector (where a lot of my weapon knowledge comes from and he has an authentic Walther P-38, with the Nazi war stamp on it (it was actually used in the war). Last time we went to the range before I came out here he let me put a clip through it. Interesting pistol, innaccurate as all hell, but it was an experience . Plus I got a chance to go shooting with one of the programmers that worked at Rogue several months back, and he's got a Colt .45 from 1938 (didn't know if it was used in the war or not).

And of course, you can make your own stuff if you got the skeelz . But if you got the money and the resources and know where to look, you can hunt it down
