Halo 2 is part 2 of a 3 part game, the ending is obviously going to be a cliffhanger, if they just ended up wiping the covenant out then it wouldn;t set up much of a storyline for the final chapter of the game. Halflife 2 also has a cliffhanger ending, i dont see too many people bitching about that though. I would have assumed people would use some common sense when bitching about the ending, seems i was asking too much. oOo:

Again i ask like back in the doom 3 thread, show me a first person shooter that doesn't have some degree of repetativeness, halo has vehicles to mix it up with though. And repatitive or not, people are gonna play through it to get filled in on the story which focuses more on the covenant and why theyre attacking earth. Doesn't really matter in the long run because the majority are going to want to play through it.

As for the textures, i don't see too much wrong with them, xbox only has a total of 64 megs of shared ram, not all that is used for texture storage, considering how large the levels look id say the textures do a good enough job. Theyre not super hi res but if they were the levels would probably be a quarter the size with a shit load more loading. Its a technical limitation, if they were gonna use a swap file on the xbox hard drive for texture caching that would have made the game chug at points so they opted for what would be a smoother gameplay experience.

I don't see anything wrong with those, first and foremost its a console shooter and will be played on a tv not a monitor so most likely you wont even notice the textures as much, secondly for the ps2 owners getting their 2 cents worth of bitching in, the ps2 would probably explode trying to do one level of halo 2 at that res, kindly stfu.
