thats crazy... our school in good old Norwalk, Iowa (one of the lowest crime areas, of a lowe crime state) has very tight security.. last week a gunshot was heard downtown (a good mile or so from school) and the whole school system locked down... all doors were locked and no one was allowed to come or go from anywhere for 2 hours

last year a scruffy construction worker working on the outside of the school came inside for a drink, and the same thing happened... they like tackled the guy.. it was cool

wtf? why is suburbia more secure than places that need it?
