Remember this is just an algorithim.

What was done, probably, is the average per year of each of these things was calculated. Avg # of deaths last year. Avg # of cars produced, etc. Then they just broke it down per second, and probably added the estimate for the upcoming year. I don't think it's very difficult to figure these things out. Red Cross has estimates for all the health related issues.

I'm sure if these people did their homework, most of those numbers are fairly accurate.
