Perhaps I should rephrase the whole "not training"... the downtime between when I was waiting my turn, or had already gone was boring. That 15 minutes where I was just sitting there cleaning my weapon seemed like an hour. However... the worst was during BRM, especially since I was in 1st Platoon. After my platoon was done, we'd have to wait for the other three platoons to go through. And on the zero range, we'd have to stay and wait for the last guys to zero... that especially sucked the day I zeroed right away. I mean, shit... you can only clean your weapon so many times. We just sat there getting yelled at for not doing anything and getting smoked for being finished cleaning your weapons. In the Army we trained all day, except for Sunday, but there was a lot of hurry up and wait. We get phone calls of sorts... the first one is thirty seconds, and after that it's about three to five minutes, if you follow the rules. The shitbags would stay on the phones for hours whenever they could. I personally followed the rules. Things like, phone calls only on Sundays, and shit. Others would wait until after lights out and use them.
