Everyone, including myself, agrees that the US should invade Iraq and overthrow Saddam...the problem is that our country is in recession, and with our economic troubles, a war is the last thing we need.

Bush's Administration have stated before that the US invasion force sent into Iraq would be much smaller than the, what was it, 300,000 troops that were sent into the Gulf. While everyone agrees that the 300,000 was overkill, sending in less troops would probably mean that the war would last much longer, even with our advanced technology. And who knows what Saddam has up his sleeve. We know that he has rebuilt his army, but are we absolutely positive that they would surrender at the overwhelming force of the US led coalition. And what kind of weapons is he hiding? How do we know he hasn't been biding his time waiting for the right moment to take out as many americans as possible, whether it be by gas, chemical, or, worse-case scenario... nuclear.

I don't like this political talk, so I'll stop, but the point is that this gung-ho attitude that we must go into Iraq and topple this ruthless dictator is going to cost our country. It will cost the US money and many American Lives.

I will end this useless rant with a joke I heard from Sam Kinison regarding the Scud Missle in the Persian Gulf...

You can't f*ck with the United States, because we have the smart bomb. But wait, the Iraqis had the weapon of doom, they had the Scud Missle...and if K-Mart was a weapons dealer, they would sell the Scud missle. Yeah, it's kind of like the F*cking Smart bomb. You see, what you do is, you fire it out of the back seat of your car...woooosssshhh. And then you go home and turn on CNN to see where it landed (laughter), so yeah, it's KINDA like the smart bomb.
