There's definately a lot of Americans that hate hollywood-type movies I'll say that. But since there's such a pricetag on releasing an "indie" movie nationwide into "franchise" theaters, hollywood has put a monoply on catching bored families/people looking for entertainment, which is a lot of people($$$$$).
