This was rumored to happen after it waw discovered a date was printed in the credits if you beat the game on legendary. This obviously doesn't allign with the date, which was in February I believe, but it seems that all the complaining of the demo level being left out and other whining from the fans has had an effect.

The game was planned to be much bigger, but Bungie was forced to cut a lot of ideas or scrap half-finished levels because the project just became to big to handle. This is a good idea, if not just for the money aspect for Bungie but if they do include extra content, higer resolution and HDD I'll buy it. I want to test it out on my new HDTV.
