Well so far ive done the following
M1 garand
Pros:
Can now be reloaded mid clip.
Slightly increased rate of fire, its now a true semi auto as it fires as fast as you click the mouse.
Cons:
Less likely to kill in 1 shot unless its a head shot.
It has increased rate of fire but the faster you tap the less accurate your shots are.
Kar 98k mauser
Pros:
Likely to kill in one shot
Outdoes the garand in terms of accuracey over long distance
Cons:
Bolt action so obviously it has a slow rate of fire which can prove derrogitory when enemies are in close proximity.
5 round clip in comparrison to garands 8 rounds.
Also classes with rifles will move a good bit faster than people hauling along bar's or smg's
Im basically balancing the weapons against each other, 1 weapon may looks to have an advantage over another but the advantages normally cancel each other out. For example the garand has a better rof but you normally need 2 hits for a kill, if you hit once theres still a chance the guy with the mauser can take you out with a well placed shot.
Im really hoping this comes together right, ww2 games should be about riflemen primarily and not infantry support guys completly owning weapons that should ass rape it at long distance.
