Yea, but it seems like the kind of price one country would pay to gain complete control over the world economy. With the 9/11 attacks, the United States dumped their foreign policy, allowing them to attack on suspicion (WMD's) while being backed by millions of angry americans.

Seems like a practical price to pay. Hell, they dont seem to care for the thousands of iraqi civilians killed.
