Yeha that and the fact tv's slightly blur the image, case in point, halo 2 looks great on my tv, on my pc through a tv in card its a ragged looking piece of shit, tv's anti-alias an image to some extent, whereas on a monitor its infinitely sharper so the image suffers for console games going through a monitor.
