Good US games... hmm
Well Quake/Doom aren't EA, I believe. Same with Westwood's C&C, the Civilisation/Masters of Orion series. Apogee were great, during their hey-days, but I think they're Canadian.
Great "European" games:
GTA (GTA3 was half Scottish - surprise, surprise that they'd come up with such an idea
- half American, I think)
Deus Ex
Championship Manager (I believe N.Americans are going to be getting a hockey version of this... you're in for a treat as CM is THE football managing game, you couldn't ask for more).
