Everyone goes on about old school this and old school that....It's not about that. It's just that the modern commercial scene has a line-up of rappers that are materialistic criminal pimps, and that is totally a result of the consumers who buy the shit.
There is plenty of good new stuff coming out all over the show, you just have to know where to look.

....and believe it or not, Jay-Z was once an excellent rapper. Listen to Reasonable Doubt.
