Its not comparing it with little countries, its top 10 compared to gdp.
US contributes far more than anyone else, but that is beacuse their economy is enormous. When you put it on a scale of gdp, it shows exactly how much of the government is spending out of the total.
If one country spends 10% of gdp but it is really small and that means it only contributes $1,000,000 the US spends .01% gdp and contributes $25,000,000. The stats aren't skewed, most stats between countries are run through GDP. If you were to compare US and China's military spending, you'd do it through GDP.
