Temperatures would drop by a lot from the ash. Practically all living organisms would die off. Even with just a degree change of about 2-4, millions of species would become extinct. I am unsure about this, but this one super volcano could possibly cause a lot more volcanos in the area (continent?). We don't have to worry too much about it though rolleyes: . It will most likely erupt in 100 - 10,000 years. Anyway, ...mass extinctions.
Another thing about mass extinctions: In late December, there was a scare about an asteroid (1K Miles in size) colliding into the earth on Friday the 13th, 2029. There was a 1 in 38 chance of it hitting. However, it has been ruled out that it will not hit the Earth. Nobody heard about this because everyone was worried about what was happening in Asia, with the Tsunami and all.
