I don't know how many illegal people are coming over the border. Yes there are smuggled people from China and North Korea crossing the border, but that pales in comparison to Mexicans crossing over.

All borders are insecure. If someone wants to get across any border, there are ways to do it. No one can ever stop illegal people or drugs from crossing the border unless some sort of enormous shield is built around the entire country. Canada and the US do 2 billion worth of trade every day. When restrictions are put on the legal flow of traffic, then it hurts both countries. The minutemen would probably have no impact of legal crossings, but it seems as though they want to be isolated from the rest of the world, which just isn't possible.
