because a) things are made to be overclocked, from what I read it causes other problems. and b) they will be obsolete sooner when newer generations of games come out.

a friend has a 200 the BF1942 multiplayer demo can barely keep up with it as it is.

I dont mind spending the $250-$275 for the card, I just need to know which brands are the most trustworthy, and if there is any spec I should be looking at.

For instance, I don't really need TV out but I might someday so I think I will get it, but for games and photoshop etc, is there some trick to know which 4600 ti 128 mb is best for that stuff?
