lol, urm, I am not trying to argue with you, but it is not cheaper...and by FAR its not cheaper....I do my research and I checked the sites, to get the same EXACT parts online....at newegg.com for ex....it comes out MORE expensive, you save money on the parts buying it prebuilt because of the fact that the companies have contracts and deals in which they can sell their product at a MUCH lower cost because they know that they will sell more that way. Lets use Dell for ex (and No I am not getting one) on their XPS Gen4, you can get the Intel P4 3.7GHz 1066 FSB Extreme Edition Processor for about $300-400 less then if u were to buy it...ANYWHERE else...why is that? Its because Intel knows FULL well that in doing this, their sells will go WAY the hell up. The reason why you believe otherwise is because you GOT an Alienware, they are too proud of their systems, and you pay for the name. Not saying that the rigs are not awesome, but they over-charge you like HELL! I looked at them as well, I also looked into Falcons, and others....the fact of the matter is, you HAVE to shop around to find the best deals. I would like someone to go right ahead and show me a cheaper rig (that you buy the parts and build yourself) with the same specs as I have shown above (sure you can even add the 512, but its STILL gonna be more expensive, ALOT more). As far as the AMD, I just wont do it man, sorry, I love intel and where they are going with it....plus all the things I have read and experienced tell and show me that Intel is the Leader of the pack, AMD is good and cheap and easy to overclock. Only diff. And actually, when I get my new PC, I will be taking the 512 of PC3200 outta my current rig and place into the new one making 768MB. Only thing is, it wont be Dual Channel like it is now.
