The initial survival is almost entirely based on LUCK: it depends on where you
are when it begins and how far you are from your first objective. That said, I'm
pretty sure once I secure a firearm, I would seriously increase my odds of
survival for the first two weeks. After that, it depends on other factors like how
the actual infection spreads (no problem with local water supplies for a while if it
doesn't hurt you) and where you're located.

I'm a realist so I don't give myself good odds of surviving. If I'm home, OK...
otherwise, ouch. Sucks to be you... I KNOW I KNOW. I KNOW IT'S TRUE.
