Wow, what an interesting thread. eatthis:
Butcher your first post is more confusing than helpful, especially since I've never seen anyone ask if serverside mods are possible. Thus a huge paragraph basically saying "Yes they are, I know how, I can't be bothered to tell you" is naturally going to get you a few less than complimentary responses. The basic procedures are documented in several guides, takes only a few minutes to learn.
However the main issue here is why should anyone care about making server side mods themselves? Most server admins don't have the time or inclination, and most mappers would rather make new maps. Server-side mods are a novelty, and a very limited one at that. Also there are very real engine issues introduced with server-side mods, there are two methods of dynamic spawning and the one used for most common objects causes engine errors. As far as I can tell, only vehicles and large weapons are meant to be dynamically spawned, severely limiting what you can spawn without causing engine errors. This is the main reason I switched from using barbwire fences in my Omaha fix to using a tank.
And finally, I didn't see anyone using my name, I saw someone offer an example and give credit to where he got it. Besides if someone was invoking my name they have to use Latin, all good invocations do. So take your medication, m'kay?
