From what I've been reading, this verdict is in line with Indonesean law and might even be considered lenient. It is my understanding though, that the judge(s) didn't consider the evidence presented about a known problem with Quantas baggage handlers using customers luggage to transport pot and other drugs. oOo: Seems like this might be relevant to the case.
Anyway, who the hell knows if she knew or not. It is fucked up though that she will serve 20 years in a rat hole prison where they say that the life expectancy due to deplorable conditions is only 10 years. This is especially true when 2 of the co-conspirators of the Bali bombing that killed 200+ people (most Australians) served 18 months and 2 years. I guess in Indonesia weed is more detrimental to society than bombs. annoy:
I guess I'll be taking Indonesia off my vacation destination list. Don't want to get busted for spitting on the sidewalk or some shit.
