Here's a real cheap/easy one I used to fire up during my broke-ass bachelor days:

Zone's Hot As The Beejeezus Spanish Rice with Sausages

4-5 hot italian sausages (or whatever kind you like)
1 cup instant rice (will make about 2 cups when cooked)
1/2 cup salsa
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tbsp soya sauce
1/4 cup water

Boil the sausages for 10 minutes, remove and cut into 1/4" slices on an angle. You can remove the casings from the sausages if you want.

Cook your instant rice according to the package instructions (Minute Rice is equal parts water and rice).

Heat a frying pan and place the sausage slices in an even layer. Brown on each side (4-5 minutes) over medium heat. Add water, salsa, brown sugar and soya sauce to the pan and reduce for 2-3 minutes.

When the rice is done (around 5 minutes), add to the sausage mixture in the frying pan and stir to combine.

Eat like a motherfucker.
