+ for gerv and akuma, is it normal to lose 11 gb of storage on a drive after it has been formatted ? it reads as 149gb of storage...on my old 40gb drive I only lost 1.5gb of space.. im losing close to 11gb on this one.. is this normal on larger drives ?[/quote:b1836]

It's all about the marketing see? The hard drive manufacturers count megabytes one way and windows counts it another.[/quote:b1836]
Ya... It's all the fault of a byte. A byte is actually 8 bits but manufacutes round up to 10 for sake of ease. The larger the drive, the larger the size error.
