The interplay between each musician is astounding, and would take a massive amount of skill to be able to play flawlessly live, which they do.
100 % of all Drum And Bass Dj = play the drums (many types) & many play piano/keyboard, Not to mention a good amount play guitar, bass guitar.... How do you think they create loops for their songs ? I would just like to point of that DJ's of the like have just as much talent as many solo artists do and bands.
NO way in fuck. Just listen to the track Close To The Edge, then give Focus - Eruption a try. Theres tons of others that would blow a drum n bass track out of the water, just ask if you're interested. I guarantee you it takes 100x more talent to compose than drum n bass. And i'm not saying i dont enjoy drum n bass, some of it is pretty sweet. But its not even NEAR the talent that some bands have. Talent isnt everything, musicians need emotion and creativity, simple songs can be some of the best. But in this case, i know for a fact that no drum n bass artist can amount to the music genuis of Steve Howe, Bill Bruford, Jan Akkerman, and the list goes on.[/quote:e54e3]

Drum N Bass is in its infancy or early childhood to say. In time it will be able to have comparable DJ's/Artist's with raw playing talent. (But really they don't need insane playing skills to make fantastic tracks.. happy: I'll search that stuff up and Dl it off Lime. BUT I do see the same amount of "creative" genius, Not the same amount of pure raw playing talent of course... maybe in time. (I feel all genre's of music have tons creative genius, or else there would be no fans. beer: ).
