a 4 ohm amp wont cut it?... That doesnt make sense.. The actual impedance doesnt matter that much, its the power the amp puts out at that impedance. Many people run a 2-channel amp bridged @ 4 ohm, where it puts out full power....
And active crossovers are usually included on the amp... not using them wont necessarily fry the speakers either, alot of people run their interiors full range with no problem, you will hear massive distortion before you come close to mechanically blowing them (overexcursion), and thermally blowing them only happens when you send them too much power, not at all frequency dependent...
