It does appear to be a new card, it definately seems a lot longer than previous cards, its almost the same width as the motherboard in that pic. |

It could be just an early version of the board, ati's boards usually end up being shorter than nvidia's, not sure why its soemthing to do with the layers or the density of the layers or something.
