I went to the U of MD. The campus isn't really spread out, its just damn big. It is contiguous, which I prefer to the campuses that are spread out here and there through a town, like Chapel Hill. There are shuttle buses that run all over the campus. The only time that they are put to use is when you want to go from the freshman high rises to the bars on Route 1. happy:
It is a great school to go to if you don't know what you're into right now. There is plenty to choose from and several top 20 courses of study. The social life is great, ACC sports, 15 minutes by from College Park metro station to anywhere in DC.
You're right about the food though.
Did I mention the nice ass. Plenty of that walking around. Those other schools sound like good choices as well, just don't go to PSU or VA Tech. They're in the middle of nowhere, unless you consider State College/Altoona & Blacksburg happening places.
