And Poseidon: You can't possible appreciate him as much as someone who actually values what he sacrificed himself for because you don't value what he was doing, you can never value his efforts as much as someone who belveives in what he died for, that it was for a purpose. By saying this war was bullshit, it's saying that he died for a bullshit reason instead of dying trying to protect his country. It would be logically impossible for an anti-war person to value what he did more than someone who supports the war.

That's why this woman is pissed off. Her son died for what SHE thinks is a bullshit reason. She can't value his sacrifice as much as someone else because she doesn't think it was valid. I'm sure she would like to value his sacrifice, and she would have, had he actually died protecting his country from an actual threat.
You can still appreciate that he died despite it. He died because he initially joined the army to protect his country. Even if this particular war he was sent too was unjustified.
and Pyro....I wouldn't use WW1 as an example of a justified war if I were you.
