Why does it HAVE to be in the form of a "weekly paycheck," not everyone can get a job. Not everyones lives are that simple. What if you live miles away from any place you can get a job? A good father would compromise with you and make you put all that unused hard work and energy into other areas of your life and make sure you deserve the car when he gives it to you.

What if you live in a city where a car isn't an option? Do you miss out on becoming a man? This is just silly. There are other ways to take on responsibility. Cars aren't that big a deal.

Why would somebody bash you, most everybodys first car aint their first choice of cars. Most guys have two cars in mind, the dream car then the one that fits the wallet. I expect that rule has applied since the first car rolled off the line.
Come to think of it, its one of the few things that hasnt changed generation to generation. the models change but a guys first car remains the same. |

Don't comeback and say that's not true because it is....You're closing your mind to the possibility of someone earning the right to have a car given to them through other means than working at a job and getting paid by a boss. Simply because they have rich parents.

My family are very well off, but it's only because my parents worked terribly hard to get where they are.....They bought both my cars. Doesn't mean I didn't deserve them.
I'm pretty much their butler when I'm not at university, they're both so busy they're rarely home to manage the rest of their life - So I do a lot of it for them, and have been doing it at varying degrees since I've been capable of it....

Firstly: Yeah, that's the ONLY way to teach someone a lesson about hard work. You can't give your kids ANYTHING at all.....and when they do "work" for it, it HAS to be in the form of a JOB.
Jesus fucking christ, open your mind a little. You can't see anyone earning the right to be given a car in other areas of life OTHER than a payed job? What if your kids a fucking scholar and has no time for a job? What if your kids are too busy looking after your old ass, helping you maintain and as a result don't have time for a job. You don't pay them any money.
....But oh no, if you get them a car IT WILL INSTANTLY MAKE THEM A SPOILT BRAT.
Can you SEE how stupid and nieve you look? There ARE times when people are given things that they deserve.
....and for the record, the car my parents gave me (my first) was worth about 750$ American dollars.....In my honest and logical opinion, I deserved it. I worked hard for it. I went out of my way helping out my folks for it.
....but it was given to me. I didn't go to the store and get it with money from my own wallet, but it was with money I had earned.
That DOES NOT make me a spoilt brat, or unworthy of my "manhood" like you people say it would.
