[quote="Airborne Butters":f77e8]White Sox came out of nowhere!

They had a decent pre-season, to say the least. Meanwhile, the Indians had the best they've had in god knows how long. Next thing you know they handle them easily pushing em out of the race. Here come defending champs Bo-Sox. Now I'm an avid Red Sox hater, being a Yankee fan, but they seemed to have a good season. Good lineup and all. Next thing you know they're swept by a team that they were supposed to be crushed by!? Gotta love playoffs!

p.s.

Go Yanks![/quote:f77e8]

The Chicago White Sox had the best record in baseball for almost 5 months of the season. They finished with 99 wins, second only to the cardinals who had 1 more. They held first place in the AL Central from the start of the season to the end of the season. The Indians were down by 15 1/2 games at the start of august...they went on an incredible run of 47-13 paying over .800 baseball. they closed the gap to 2 1/2 games, but then we destroyed them when it counted....The indians pretty much caught fire the last two months, but only played well for that 2 month stretch. id say their 95 world series team was great.

As for the Whitesox being underdogs, well, i certainly didnt think so...especially with that horrid starting pitching staff Boston had. Of course, the Whitesox hardly get any media attention, but what else is new...we have always been second fiddle in our own city. Unfortunately, america's favorite lovable loser Scrubs recieve all baseball attention in this town...hence butters comments. hell you would think from his post that the whitesox were down all year and suddenly won hake:

thats they way we like it on the south side, i dont mind being the underdog, even though we arent. we are the best team in the american league, at least record wise, whether that translates into winning the pennant remains to be seen. i look foward to either the yankees or the angels, i think we match up well against both of them.
