P-Ms are superior to A64 Turions in terms of battery life. They are usually cheaper too. But either are great.

Get a Dell i9300. You can get a good P-M, up to 2GB of RAM, and a Go6800.

If that's out of your price range, maybe look at Acer or ABS with 9700s in them. You can probably get one for under $1500.
