Alot of people say you shouldn't go over double the amt. of RAM you have. (If you have 128MB, dont put more than 256MB of virtual RAM.) But, it has been proven that if you have sufficent HD space, you can put 3X even 4X as much. I have 512MB of RAM, and set my VM to 1500MB.
