So does using Ghost just reload programs, or does it reload all the random files lying around on the HD?
Also, how many disks (CD's) does it take to do that?
Thanks.[/quote:329ea]
What I do is, reformat, reload all the base applications that I would reload every time and partition the HD into 2, C: maybe 8 to 10 gig and D: the rest of the HD. Your OS, your browser of choice, any other applications that you must have to do whatever you do with the PC is loaded on the C: drive. I then Ghost or Image that partition and store the Image on the 2nd partition or you can burn it to a CD. Any games and stuff I load on the PC, I load on the 2nd partition. This keeps the OS partition clean and small.
If you have a problem in the future, you will be able to reolad all your base applications in 20 to 30 minutes and your ready to reload your games and stuff on a clean non-cluttered HD.
This will image or copy all files on the partition, so be smart about the applications you load. If you add new applications to the C: drive and it works perfectly, you can simply create a new image of the partition.
Hope this helps and sorry I got long winded..... freak:
