winamp, audio files? or do you simply have video files that have the amp icon so when you double click on'em, they open up in winamp? if so, they may already be mpeg's. [url=http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html:f3602]TMPGE[/url:f3602] is pretty good. that'll allow you to convert certain video files to mpeg.
