2000 = 11-1 (7-0) Sugar Bowl vs Florida (Miami won)
2001 = 12-0 (7-0) Rose Bowl vs Nebraska (Miami won) (Championship)
2002 = 12-1 (7-0) Fiesta Bowl vs Ohio State (Miami lost)
2003 = 11-2 (6-1) Orange Bowl vs. FSU (Miami won)
2004 = 9-3 (5-3) Peach Bowl vs Florida (Miami won)
and they haven't just won recently, they went 52-9 under Jimmy Johnson from 1984-1988 and 63-9 under Dennis Erickson from 1989-1994. They won the national championship 3 times in 5 years in the late 80's and early 90's
Why would you not expect a team like that to play well? Sure they're thugs, but that doesn't mean they can't play
