Shimano's are good reels. They're tough as shit for saltwater.


That boat is nice though, wish I could afford something near that nice. Penn makes nice reels, I'm thinking about my next spinning setup being a Penn. There's also the possibility that I could switch over to a baitcaster setup for working jigs around structure and drop offs better. I want to get into fly fishing, but I don't have the money to spend on rod n reel setup, plus most of my fishing at the moment is more conventional spinning tackle setup.

The boat I have is perfect for me. I spend about 5 bucks in gas and that'll set me for a week. On top of that the boat only really draws like less then a foot of water.

Pike fishing looks fun. I'll have to try it out some time, as does strip bass fishing. I haven't caught a striped bass in a long time. Last time I caught one was fishing with my uncle in NY off Montauk point on Long Island.
