Damn, that sucks. Well, a few years ago before a dickhead named Martin Bryant decided to kill 35 people here in Australia (perfect example of why we should have the death penalty) I was hoping to get myself an AR-15 or a CAR-15 modified to shoot semi auto. Unfortunately, that demented fuck destroyed alot of sporting shooters fun by making them give up their weapons to be destroyed. So anyway, we are basically stuck with bolt action rifles and handguns, and if the tree huggers get their way aswell the anti gun lobbyists, we will be in the same boat as the Brits and you Canucks.
