Southern soul pop rock? The same "genre" that made Dave Matthews huge, along with every other Deep South rocker. Just because you dont like the music doesnt mean the guy isnt talented.

Katherine didnt win for the same reason CHRIS would have - people are tired of the same shit. Hell she even nearly LOOKS like CLARKSON.

And the performances by the finalists with the artists (especially ELLIOT, CHRIS and TAYLOR) were fucking incredible.

Honestly - the knee-jerk "American Idol sucks" comments are fucking hilarious. Its a show - about singing. If it were "Babies With Knives" or "Grandma Racing: XXX" I could see folks dumping on the show. But its a shoe - about singing. The entire premise is so plain and devoid of "crap" that its impossible to diss it legitimately. Sure you can poo-poo on the filler, Ryan Seacrest and the product placement. But other than that - how is the show "crap" or "gay"?
