I assume, that if an alien race were advanced enough and wished to impart some type of knowledge upon me they wouldn't require me to take one of the largest chances in my life on a decision which can at best be described as dubious.

Sorry, I just don't want to end up in the obituary, and have a thread about me with the "You gonna get raped" picture posted somewhere in it.
