No the VLBA is part of a different program than the VLA. Its a radio telescope that takes pictures of stars and so forth. There are 9 other sites that each have a dish and they spread from Hawaii to right next to my Camp in New Hampshire. They are all connected to the same computer and where one is facing the 9 others are as well and they take the largest possible picture of the sky at one time. We take our kids on hikes up to it to show them that its there and tell them some things about it. The dish is 82 feet in diameter
