On second thought I think Edge is going to have a crappy year with the Cardinals. Their OL is pretty bad; nothing like what he is used to in IND.
Steven Jackson, Rudi Johnson, or Lamont actually all seem like better choices now. I have another pick in 5 picks after this so I'm trying to anticipate who will take who. It's almost certain that both Brown and Cadillac will both be gone, and I want one of those guys. But then that would leave Steven Jackson, Rudi, LaMont, or Edge left by my nect pick(possibly). I think LaMont may slip down further than usual. I'm taking 3 backs in a row this year, because we can start 2 RBs and a flex position. I think it's most certain that another QB will be taken (2 have gone this Rd) and one, maybe two WRs will go (Owens and Moss).
Now that I look at it that way, I'm leaning towards Steven Jackson. He's a workhorse, big guy, and can do many things with the ball. Plus he has a lot of weapons around him to open up the lanes. What do you think about me taking Jackson first, even ahead of Edge or the others.
Positives
* Perfect mix of size, power and quickness
* Team focused on getting the ball into his hands this season
* Rams have a pretty strong run-blocking offensive line
Negatives
* Veteran Marshall Faulk may stick around to steal some touches
* He hasn’t proven he can handle a full 20+ carry per game workload at the NFL level
* It isn’t known yet how smoothly the switch to a more conventional offense will ultimately be
St Louis was 29th in the league in rushing attempts in 05, running the ball just 37% of plays. Even so, Jackson racked up 1,054 yards rushing, 8 TDs in 15 games at 4 yards a carry.
