Or you could just embrace the hundreds of other cultural and governmental differences that are generally ignored.
But then again, if the fact that one of your provinces speaks a different language is the only thing keeping you from feeling like an American, why should socalized medicine, a national love for Hockey that is renowned worldwide, a stereotype of a nicer citizen that is in stark contrast to that of the American citizen stereotype, or the use of the metric system (just to name a few), be any reason to stop you?
