Good advice.

Also, try going to the website of the company who manufactured the drive and see if there are any firmware/driver updates there. You can also try contacting them with the problem, or just exchanging it for a replacement if it's under warrenty.
im not sure which dvd drive it is....

is there ANY way that i can find out? besides calling them...
