They didn't change any formula, the gameplay was the same the graphics were different, what you see doesn't affect how the game is played. And last i checked theres no written rule that says zelda games HAVE to look a certain way.

seriously, every Zelda game has had a completely different look. Pyro, you are a fool, please stop trying to make big points.
That's not totally true. The two N64 Zelda games looked virtually the same. The GBC Zelda games looked the same. The only games that actually had good, original looks to them were the first Zelda, Zelda for the SNES, and Wind Waker. The GBA Zelda game and the Four Swords game also looked the same. Almost. So yeah, not every single Zelda game looks different, and not all of them are very original.
