This weekend I drove down to Detroit to visit my brother Ryan. We had planned on doing some urban exploring through the city's many abandoned buildings, and that's just what we did. Of course I brought my camera along for the ride.
On the drive there and a stop at my other brother's place to visit and see my niece. I hate babies fuck them and their fucking whining.

I left Thursday and stayed at Jeff's after the 3 hour cardrive of nothingness. I left Friday and headed to Detroit. Got there later in the night; this is my brothers downtown studio. ballaaaaaaaaaaaa

We went out, ate some damn fine food and enjoyed the ability to pollute my lungs with cancer while inside public buildings (your welcome to those that suffered second hand smoke). We toured the Whitney building that night; I didn't snap any pics but here's the building [url:47b49]http://www.detroitfunk.com/images/MAY06/DSC03003.jpg[/url:47b49]. Climbing to the roof after a large meal wasn't the greatest feeling.
We woke up the next morning and headed over to an abandoned police station. This place was amazing. I spent more time walking through mold poo and exploring the madness left behind than taking pictures. There were boxes among boxes of incident reports, rooms with gas mask and tear gas, and the best of all; the evidence room. In there were stolen goods (Sega Genesis), knives, blood samples, security tapes, etc. The floor was covered in mugshots of criminals.

We finally made it to the roof, but it was so damn windy I didn't want to shoot and the weather destroyed the scenery. I got this quick one off before my balls were sitting in my stomach for warmth.

After the train station we went home, ate some food, and rested our bones. I was dead tired and ready to sit on my ass all night. After some conviencing around 1am my brother and I went to another building in the middle of downtown, the Fort Shelby [url:47b49]http://www.forgottendetroit.com/fsh/images/Z0000239.jpg[/url:47b49] . Usually we travel with 2 or 3 other guys, but we just decided to go the two of us. This place was pitch black and really destroyed. I was kinda nervous and sketched out on the inside, but I got one off of the entrance.

Our goal was to head up to the roof. So after many stairs and many creepy ass hall ways with rooms perfect for any rapist/mugger, we finally made it to the top and wow, this was worth it. If you check out the pic you can see there's a tiny little square ontop of the roof, which is where we were at. The pics don't do much justice to being there but here you go cocksuckers.

We booked it down the stairs and headed home quickly for a good night sleep. We woke up the next morning and walked around Detroit, ignoring the crackheads and keeping our spare change to ourselves. These are my favourite shots of the set;

Upon walking around we found an entrance to another abandoned building only a block from home. My brother always wanted to get inside and now was our chance. We had to ditch checking out the Whitney building again but it was worth it.
