[quote:afb55] yeah i took me awhile before i really properly understood apt. and shutterspeed; but my highschool photography class helped alot. once you get a grasp of what's going on everything infront of you becomes a playground. [/quote:afb55]

Im thinking of taking a Photography class next semester. Quick couple of units (which I need), and would help to get an "academic" introduction after messing around on my own for a good while.

[quote:afb55] when you're having problems with the autofocus, what mode are you shooting in (manual, auto, etc.)? [/quote:afb55]

Didnt think of that. Ill try that. Cant recreate the shots it was happening on, but might be able to do the conditions.

[quote:afb55]in terms of b&w i use a photoshop action i downloaded off the net. it works great and gives me a large scale of tonal differences. i'll shoot you a pm with it in the near future. nef can become a hassle hsooting as with raw, jpg works fine for me and it's the easiest to work with. usually raw and nef require plug ins and sometimes special nikon software to edit. Id appreciate that -

beer: Tons of photos I took where I was wishing I had a quickie B&W option on this thing (and for the life of me I cant see why there isnt one). Yea I didnt want to shoot many RAW files - they were large as hell, and drained my battery but good. Plus, I cant tell the difference when I resize them anyway.

As for the filter, yea alot of it does look gimmicky - but Id like some IR shots for my own personal stash - especially if I can get one at a non-crazy-ass price. If not Ill just settle for the tele/macro lens (which Id rather have honestly).

Ill post some pictures in a minute.
