have you ever taken elementary school level biology? you know like haploid and diploid? gametes (sex cells) are haploid so when they are fertilized they become diploid....well if there is a mistake in gamete production, one of the cells can become triploid and usually, like c312 said, they are infertile........yea im a bio major....
